Counterfeit HP kit worth US$19m seized in Dubai

HP has announced that US$19m worth of counterfeit HP print cartridges and components have been seized in Dubai. Working in conjunction with Dubai police, an illegal conunterfeit operation occupying a 600 square metre warehouse was raided. Four people were arrested as a result and Dubai Police have launched a criminal investigation. Read full story

Bytes signs SCI for Xerox kit in Tanzania

Bytes Document Solutions, authorised distributor of Xerox products and solutions to 24 African countries, has appointed Service and Computer Industries (SCI) Tanzania as a distributor. Bytes, which has annual sales in excess of US$220m, has embarked on a programme to expand its African footprint and deepen penetration into various markets on the continent. Read full story

Asbis eyes new vendors

Emerging markets distribution powerhouse Asbis has set its sights on signing more vendor agreements in the second half of 2009. The company already have new contracts in the pipeline and claims that adding new vendors forms part of its ongoing strategy to broaden its product portfolio and achieve better customer reach.
