Networking vendor Zyxel has expanded its channel reach in the Ukraine, signing a national distribution agreement with MUK Group. The newly appointed MUK reckons that the addition of Zyxel products to its portfolio will allow the company to better meet the need of partners and channel customers.

Panda commits to UK consumer channel
Panda Security has fully committed itself to channel-led distribution of its consumer products in the UK. Panda will work through existing consultancy-led distribution partner, Blue Solutions, as well as newly appointed distributors Westcoast and VIP Computers. Panda hopes that its channel model will help it boost its consumer sales and grab market share from rival vendors such as Symantec, Kaspersky and Bullguard.

Seagate extends EMEA distribution
Hard drive giant Seagate has appointed four new authorised distributors for its products in EMEA. Gandalf Data in Sweden, MCR Info Electronic in Spain, ECS Distribution in Egypt and Germany and pan-European player Siewert & Kau have all picked up Seagate rights. All four companies were distributors for Samsung’s hard drive business, which was acquired by Seagate last year.

New European structure at Tech Data
Distribution giant Tech Data has announced changes to its European structure with the creation of a new European executive board (EEB) and a decision to divide the market into two regions. Tech Data reckons that the changes will allow it to ‘optimise business efficiency’ between its European functions, specialist divisions and in-country operations.

ECA: 2012 Awards – DISTRIBUTORS
The official distributor nominations for the ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2012 Awards’ have been announced. Hundreds of senior vendor executives with EMEA channel knowledge nominated their preferred distribution partners across 10 sub-regions. In each category, the top five distributors received official nominations and go forward to the final live electronic vote, which takes place at a Gala Dinner in Monaco on February 9th 2012, held in conjunction with DISTREE EMEA.
