Avnet adds VMware rights in Romania

VAD outfit Avnet Technology Solutions (ATS) has extended its distribution deal with virtualisation powerhouse VMware to cover the Romanian market. ATS already holds VMware rights in Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic and claims that it will now be able to offer complete virtualisation solutions to its VAR base in Romania too. Navteq set to boost navigation awareness

Digital map provider Navteq will attend Digital Consumer Channel (DCC) Middle East & Africa (MEA) 2010 to raise retail channel awareness of the opportunity to sell navigation solutions on wireless devices. Navteq already offers digital maps for most countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), which can be installed on smartphones and other devices. Read full story

Overland boosts channel benefits

Overland Storage has revamped its channel programme claiming that the changes will increase sales opportunities and profitability for partners across EMEA and around the world. Overland’s FastTrack partner programme will offer expanded deal registration and dedicated sales support. Rectron reveals first half figures

South African IT and consumer electronics distributor Rectron has revealed its financial results for the six months ending December 2009 – the first half of fiscal 2010 for the company. Sales climbed 8% year-on-year to US$97m with net profits jumping 27% to US$2.7m. Rectron reckons that it has managed to post a positive set of results and businesses start to recover from the global recession. Read full story
