Saaspoint goes for Google

by Stuart Wilson, Friday 23 January 2009

Saaspoint, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) implementation and consulting outfit, has signed up for Google’s enterprise partner programme. Saaspoint plans to use Google Apps to deliver desktop and mobile applications to enterprise and SMB customers. As a Google enterprise partner, Saaspoint will assist customers in deriving more value from their Google deployments.

“We established our new business transformation consulting practice partly in response to increased market demand for better return from IT investment,” commented Colm Mulcahy, CEO at Saaspoint. “In the current market all organisations need to review expenditure across the board including IT. Google Apps premier edition offers a broad set of powerful APIs that enable us to integrate and deliver applications to the desktop at a fraction of the cost of traditional software.”

Google Apps brings communication and collaboration tools to organisations. With Google Apps, users can use tools such as Google Mail web services, Google Calendar shared calendaring, and Google Docs on their own domain to work together more effectively. As it is hosted by Google, there is no hardware or software to download, install or maintain.

"We are delighted that Saaspoint has joined our Google Enterprise Partner programme focused on Google Apps,” commented Peter Lorant, head of EMEA partners at Google Enterprise. "We are actively expanding our partner programme to help our customers rapidly unlock value. As Saaspoint is both a SaaS specialist and a user of Google Apps internally, we are keen for them to play a valuable role in increasing the adoption of Google Apps."

The Google enterprise partner programme includes developers, consultants and independent software vendors that provide value-added services for Google enterprise products.

Saaspoint is a global provider of consulting services centred around the on demand and SaaS delivery model. The company is 100% focused on the successful deployment and integration of salesforce.com and Google Apps-based projects. Saaspoint operates in North America and Europe and has offices in San Francisco, London, Stockholm, and Dublin.
