NEC Computers outlines ambitious EMEA goals

NEC Computers wants to become a top three player in the server and storage market in EMEA by 2015. To achieve its ambitious goal, NEC reckons that new solutions, new partners and a new management team will form part of a strategic shift that will reap rewards in the years to come.

The company will also attempt to make the different technology divisions within NEC work together more closely for mutual benefits. NEC Computers reckons that its vision will fit nicely with the NEC group’s global vision to become the world’s leading IT solutions provider, by combining the power of innovation with respect for the environment.

“To seize the EMEA market opportunities, NEC Computers recognises the need to update its business strategy, confront complex business challenges and work with established channel partners who are experts within their specific markets and geographies,” said Annick Reyngoudt, senior marketing manager for EMEA at NEC Computers.

“The introduction of the new corporate business strategy is aimed at significantly growing business for our partners and NEC Computers. Apart from providing greater value and innovation through our extensive range of products and services, we look forward to having the ability to efficiently scale our presence by leveraging the expertise of our regional partners,” Reyngoudt added.

NEC will focus on delivering the reduced costs and greater efficiency that IT departments continue to crave. This will include an environmental approach based on a new range of low energy consuming servers, a turnkey workstation and server virtualisation solution, physical and virtual environment management, and automation tools. NEC also plans to concentrate on delivering information system availability and productivity through collaborative solutions to make unified communications accessible to businesses of any size.

NEC will also be looking to develop a channel capable of helping it achieve its long-term goals and will use key reference sites such as the O2 in London or Grenoble Stadium to showcase its expertise. Since January 2009 more than 40 NEC VIP customers attended ‘One NEC’ at the O2 in London including representatives from the following EMEA countries: Albania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Egypt, Greece and Saudi Arabia. NEC is actively developing its VAD network and looking to plug into the VAR and systems integrator channels that these partners sell into.

"NEC Computers is looking for a shift in attitude, something that would make NEC Computers future-proof,” explained Lenia Iacovides, managing director of Interfrontiers, the regional business development unit for NEC Computers. “The new EMEA business strategy captures the corporate philosophy of innovation and integration – extending its brand further.”
