Acer presses the flesh in Kuwait

by Stuart Wilson, Wednesday 26 March 2008

Acer’s grand tour of the Middle East markets continues apace with the hardware vendor heading to Kuwait to meet its partners face-to-face and reiterate its commitment to a channel-focused indirect business model in the region.

“The Kuwaiti IT sector in constantly growing and Acer is keen to help fuel that growth,”said Krishna Murthy, deputy managing director Acer Middle East and Africa. “At Acer we understand the demands of a growing market, and empowering our channel partners in order to meet that demands is instrumental for continued success.”

“Acer’s channel business model encourages partners to be pro-active and, with their valued help, we aim to capture a significant proportion of this growing IT market,” continued Murthy.

During its Kuwaiti partner meet, Acer executives highlighted the crucial role that channel partners play in making Acer’s products available to customers across the country. Acer is a major force in the notebooks and desktop sectors across the Middle East.

At the meet, senior Acer executives educated the channel partners on the vendor’s product roadmap and Acer’s 2008 strategy. Acer executives were on hand to answer and explain Acer’s strategy and product line up, on a one-on-one basis. Acer’s partner meet in Kuwait follows hot-on-the-heels of similar events in other markets including Qatar and the UAE.
