Bytes Document Solutions appoints new Durban concessionaire

Bytes Document Solutions, authorised Xerox distributor to 24 sub-Saharan countries, has appointed Durban-based Xerox Digital Printing Specialists as a new concessionaire.

The new channel partner is headed up by long-time Xerox employee Garth van den Bergh who was the first to sell some of Xerox’s latest technology digital production presses in KwaZulu-Natal.

“I have a long history with the Xerox product range,” says Van den Bergh. “The business has already had several successes in Durban selling Xerox equipment, especially in the office and print-for-pay environments because we understand the commercial print environment particularly well and count many of the most influential printers in Durban as customers.”

Van den Bergh is a former Bytes Document Solutions employee, where he had headed up the Dealer Division as national dealer manager at the Bytes Document Solutions head office in Isando. Prior to that he was a printing systems sales executive and the regional sales manager for KwaZulu-Natal at Xeratech, which he joined in 1997. He joined Xeratech from the Altron Group’s FINTECH Technologies Acceptances business where he was appointed area manager Natal in 1993 financing equipment sold by the group’s companies, one of which was XeraTech.

“Garth has been one of our top performing employees and won many honours and club achiever awards through the years, including the Xerox Sales Director’s award for salesperson of the year in 2003,” says Ronnie Oeschger, divisional manager of the office systems group at Bytes Document Solutions. “He already has an impressive client list in the KwaZulu-Natal region and we expect he will grow penetration of our full range of products and services in that competitive market.”

“The potential of the Durban market is huge,” says Van den Bergh. Xerox Digital Printing Specialists supports the entire range of Xerox equipment and services in the region and complements the existing dealer in Pietermaritzburg and concessionaire in Pinetown. It also stocks and sells the full range of Xerox consumables.
