Power management systems provider CyberPower will return to DISTREE XXL in 2010 after its successful participation at the event in early 2009. CyberPower will use the 2010 event, which takes place in Monaco from February 8-11th, to expand its channel reach, increase product awareness and learn more about market conditions and concerns across the EMEA region.

George Kakavos, manager for South Europe, Middle East and Africa at CyberPower, said: “CyberPower is a leading global equipment manufacturer and solutions provider. Its products and solutions are aimed towards professional power management systems, covering the entire spectrum of the business.”

“Working with CyberPower Systems is a unique and pleasant experience. We seek long-term partners with whom we can grow together; we do not consider spot business to be a priority. We want to assist our partner in every way we can to slowly ‘take off’ and become stable and loyal, allowing for a very long-term business relationship,” he added.

CyberPower sees continued growth opportunities in the Middle East and Africa and is also keen to build momentum in the CIS countries in 2010. South East Europe and Iberia also feature on CyberPower’s channel agenda. With distributors from 80-plus countries from across EMEA attending DISTREE XXL, CyberPower will have ample opportunity to find the partners it needs.

“We are channel-friendly in terms of management, looking for long-term partners to grow with us, and not just to push something into a channel because of a spontaneous business opportunity,” explained Kakavos.

Where possible, CyberPower appoints one master distributor per country and pursues a selective channel recruitment strategy to ensure healthy margins for all partners.

“We offer strong marketing support that is tailored to each partner’s needs. It includes product training as needed, funding of key marketing activities based on mutually agreed ventures,” Kakavos added.

CyberPower continues to grow at double-digit rates within the EMEA theatre and predicts that this trend will continue in 2010.

“During 2009, the international credit crisis set aside the larger scale super-distribution models adopted for many years mainly across the Middle East and allowed for smaller and more flexible business schemes to start taking life,” said Kakavos.

“We predict this trend will continue in 2010, whereby we will see many smaller distributors or even VARs and systems integrators with more structured channels, a flexible way of doing business and healthier finances start taking over. We will also see many smaller companies in Africa - previously dependent on the larger Gulf distribution centres start to become active and learn to deal directly with international vendors,” he concluded.

DISTREE XXL 2010

Top distributors from across the EMEA region have been invited to attend DISTREE XXL 2010, the premier event for the regional ICT and CE channel, from February 8-11th in Monaco.

DISTREE XXL gathers 400-plus senior executives from EMEA’s Information Communications Technologies (ICT) & Consumer Electronics (CE) volume distribution channel.

During the course of the three-day event, delegates take part in thousands of pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings with hundreds of vendors. Each year, hundreds of new distribution agreements are struck across EMEA as a result of business relationships initiated at DISTREE XXL.

DISTREE XXL 2010 will also build on successful initiatives launched at last year’s sold out event including a regional awards ceremony. The ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2010 Awards’ will include more than a dozen awards handed out to vendors and distributors from across the region. www.distree.com/xxl
