DISTREE XXL unveils powerful conference programme

Delegates at DISTREE XXL can hear multiple perspectives from a number of different channel experts, offering unparalleled insight and depth of analysis into the issues impacting the future of the EMEA distribution channel. The speaker list for DISTREE XXL 2010, which takes place from February 8-11th in Monaco, includes:

“The DISTREE XXL 2010 conference agenda brings together a wealth of channel expertise from multiple companies in one place at one time,” said Farouk Hemraj, CEO at DISTREE Events, the company behind DISTREE XXL. “This is a powerful speaker line-up that allows distributors and vendors to access the freshest channel thinking from across EMEA.”

Delegates at DISTREE XXL will have the opportunity to hear from keynote speakers, participate in interactive workshop sessions, attend strategy forums and network with channel experts from across the EMEA region. Some of EMEA’s top channel managers will also attend DISTREE XXL to explain their regional strategy for 2010.

“Our delegates deserve to get the full picture regarding EMEA channel developments,” added Hemraj. “New for 2010, we are introducing the DISTREE XXL ‘Power Hour’, giving some top vendors the chance to explain their channel strategies to distributors from across EMEA.”

Power Hour

The DISTREE XXL ‘Power Hour’ speakers will include Semmy Levit, EMEA Distribution Head at Acer; Antoine Barre, VP SPO at HP EMEA, plus Vincent Fauquenot, VP Channel Partners Organisation Western Europe at Lenovo. Senior channel executives from Microsoft and Toshiba are also scheduled to participate in the session.

“The DISTREE XXL ‘Power Hour’ will complement the keynote speeches at the event,” explained Hemraj. “With leading companies such as Context, GfK and IDC delivering keynote speeches, delegates will have the opportunity to understand the market conditions, the demand outlook for 2010 and the new form factors and channel trends that are defining the development of the EMEA channel.”

The DISTREE XXL conference programme will also include multiple opportunities for up and coming vendors to promote their products to hundreds of distributors from across EMEA. Dozens of vendors will battle it out in the ’60 Seconds to Convince’ awards programme. This session, which uses live electronic voting, allows vendors to deliver an elevator pitch to the entire conference audience focused on their latest products and solutions.

“The ’60 Seconds to Convince’ programme is a perennial favourite at DISTREE XXL,” said Hemraj. “For vendors looking to build channels across EMEA, the opportunity to pitch a product to hundreds of distributors is priceless.”

Half a dozen vendors will also participate in the DISTREE XXL ‘Talk Show’ programme, moderated by EMEA channel expert Ryan Mackey. This informative slot combines short presentations followed by a Q&A session allowing distributors to assess the business models and channel engagement strategies of EMEA’s emerging vendors.


On Thursday 11th February, the DISTREE XXL Workshop Sessions take place, allowing delegates to participate in small interactive sessions with a number of keynote speakers and industry experts. These sessions cover an enormous range of channel topics including retail channels, inventory management, cloud computing, alternative form factors, M&A trends and regional break-out sessions.

“There are 16 different workshops taking place at DISTREE XXL,” continued Hemraj. “It is an opportunity for distributors and vendors to dig deeper into the subjects that matter most to them. In addition to our keynote speakers, we also invite independent consultants from across EMEA to really help us drill down into region-specific issues.”

DISTREE XXL gathers 400-plus senior executives from EMEA’s Information Communications Technologies (ICT) & Consumer Electronics (CE) volume distribution channel. During the course of the three-day event, delegates take part in thousands of pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings with hundreds of vendors. Each year, hundreds of new distribution agreements are struck across EMEA as a result of business relationships initiated at DISTREE XXL.

DISTREE XXL will also invite leading e-tailers from across EMEA to join the region’s premier channel event. The landmark move is the first time that e-tailers have been added to the DISTREE XXL delegate mix and underlines the growing importance of web-based sales channels.

DISTREE XXL remains the most cost-effective event platform for vendors seeking to launch, build or manage distribution channels within EMEA. More than 1,000 senior channel executives are set to descend on Monaco in February 2010 to attend EMEA’s ultimate go-to-market gathering.
