‘ECA: 2010 Awards’ – DISTRIBUTOR NOMINATIONS

by Stuart Wilson, Monday 25 January 2010

The EMEA Channel Academy (ECA) has announced the distributors nominated for awards in 2010. Hundreds of senior vendor executives from across EMEA have provided details of their preferred distributors by region. The top five distributors in each distributor award category will now go forwards to face a live electronic vote at the ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2010 Awards’ Gala Dinner, which takes place in Monaco on February 10th in conjunction with DISTREE XXL.

“The distributor nominations are the first step in these awards and all of the companies that have been nominated should be congratulated,” said Farouk Hemraj, director at the EMEA Channel Academy.

“Hundreds of senior EMEA vendor executives take part in the nomination process, which is used to identify the top five distributors in the running for each award,” he added. “We believe that awards should be as open and transparent as possible and this is why the eventual winner is decided by a live electronic vote at the Gala Dinner.”

Approximately 800 senior channel executives from across the EMEA region are expected to attend the Gala Dinner. During the evening, senior vendor executives will vote live for their preferred distributor candidates by geographic region. Senior distributor executives will in turn vote for their preferred vendors by product category.

The distributor awards cover nine geographic regions within EMEA. In total, 34 distribution companies received nominations with Actebis, Ingram Micro and Tech Data receiving nominations across multiple award categories. DISTREE XXL 2010

DISTREE XXL gathers 400-plus senior executives from EMEA’s Information Communications Technologies (ICT) & Consumer Electronics (CE) volume distribution channel.

During the course of the three-day event, delegates take part in thousands of pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings with hundreds of vendors. Each year, hundreds of new distribution agreements are struck across EMEA as a result of business relationships initiated at DISTREE XXL.

DISTREE XXL will also invite leading e-tailers from across EMEA to join the region’s premier channel event. The landmark move is the first time that e-tailers have been added to the DISTREE XXL delegate mix and underlines the growing importance of web-based sales channels.

DISTREE XXL remains the most cost-effective event platform for vendors seeking to launch, build or manage distribution channels within EMEA. More than 1,000 senior channel executives are set to descend on Monaco in February 2010 to attend EMEA’s ultimate go-to-market gathering. www.distree.com/xxl
