The 2010 Channel Academy at DISTREE XXL

by Stuart Wilson, Tuesday 26 January 2010

DISTREE XXL - EMEA’s premier distribution event - will once again host a series of seminars and workshop sessions on Thursday 11th February 2010. The 2010 Channel Academy agenda gives hundreds of senior distribution and vendor executives attending DISTREE XXL an opportunity to access some of the sharpest minds shaping and analysing the latest channel trends in EMEA.

“Operating as a neutral event platform, the 2010 Channel Academy is able to bring together specialists from multiple research houses, consultancies and analyst firms in one place at one time,” said Farouk Hemraj, CEO at DISTREE Events. “This gives delegates a powerful opportunity to get up close and personal with expert speakers and moderators covering the topics that mean the most to them.”

The 2010 Channel Academy agenda includes sessions and workshops hosted by bChannels, CapitalSteps, Channel Experts, Context, Gartner, GfK, IDC and Regent. In addition, expert consultants from a range of fields including channel financing, retail routes-to-market, inventory management and the META market will also host sessions. The 2010 Channel Academy sessions include:

Ranjit Atwal, Gartner - Alternative Computing Architectures - Is it for Real? New Trends in the Computing Environment

Rudi Aunkofer, GfK – Retail, Enterprise & SMB: How to Manage the Distribution Channel of Tomorrow

Cyrille Baranger, NDC Pro - Excess Stock Management

The 2010 Channel Academy takes place on the final morning of DISTREE XXL. Delegates attending the main event will also hear from major A-brand vendors during the event’s conference programme.

The conference line-up includes Antoine Barre, VP PSG channel sales organisation at HP EMEA; Vincent Fauquenot, VP channel partners organisation Western Europe at Lenovo; Semmy Levit, North West Europe director and EMEA distribution head at Acer; plus Dana Manciagli, general manager OEM division at Microsoft worldwide and Wolfgang Ebermann, VP SMS&P sales and marketing organisation at Microsoft EMEA.

Julian Dent, chairman of specialist routes-to-market consultancy VIA International and author of ‘Distribution Channels – Understanding and Managing Channels to Market’ will also participate once again at DISTREE XXL, hosting a channel forum during the event.

“We know how busy all our delegates – at both a vendor and distributor level – actually are,” added Hemraj. “Time out of the office is a precious commodity and that is why we pull out all the stops to bring together EMEA’s leading channel speakers in one place at one time. Our delegates know that they will hear balanced, informative and valuable presentations at DISTREE XXL from multiple perspectives.”

“We must also pass on special thanks all the speakers for joining us at DISTREE XXL and helping us to create EMEA’s premier independent channel conference. Many of the companies participating as speakers return year after year to DISTREE XXL – they too appreciate the quality of the audience,” he concluded.

DISTREE XXL gathers 400-plus senior executives from EMEA’s Information Communications Technologies (ICT) & Consumer Electronics (CE) volume distribution channel.

During the course of the three-day event, delegates take part in thousands of pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings with hundreds of vendors. Each year, hundreds of new distribution agreements are struck across EMEA as a result of business relationships initiated at DISTREE XXL.

DISTREE XXL will also invite leading e-tailers from across EMEA to join the region’s premier channel event. The landmark move is the first time that e-tailers have been added to the DISTREE XXL delegate mix and underlines the growing importance of web-based sales channels.

DISTREE XXL remains the most cost-effective event platform for vendors seeking to launch, build or manage distribution channels within EMEA. More than 1,000 senior channel executives are set to descend on Monaco in February 2010 to attend EMEA’s ultimate go-to-market gathering. www.distree.com/xxl
