by Stuart Wilson, Thursday 24 April 2008

UAE-based LS2 has launched an ERP practice in partnership with Indian IT outfit CodeTheatre from Bangalore. The new LS2 unit, which will sell Microsoft Dynamics NAV solutions in the Gulf region, will use CodeTheatre as its offshore development arm. LS2 claims that it already has a number of well-know customers signed up to implement Dynamic NAV solutions using a global delivery model.

Arvind Agrawal, managing director at LS2, said: “We are extremely pleased to launch this new practice based on this unique delivery model. This new model in partnership with CodeTheatre will bring the best of both worlds to the market: quality of execution as well as lower cost of ownership.”

Anand Mutalik, CEO at CodeTheatre, added: “As a global enterprise solution provider we have found the right partner in LS2 Corp to go to the Middle East market with our expertise in Microsoft Dynamics NAV and CRM. We are confident of bringing value addition to this partnership and customers with our expertise in global deliver and quality of execution.”

Imad Diab, sales and channel manager at Microsoft Gulf, commented: “Microsoft Dynamics NAV solution allows companies to simplify and streamline their highly specialised business processes by getting integrated rapidly with company’s current operation. In LS2, we have found a partner who is extremely committed to its customers and has made significant investments to ensure quality execution. This new model will add tremendous value to their portfolio and to Microsoft Dynamics NAV customers too, in a very creative way.”

LS2 Corporation claims that its annual turnover now exceeds US$49m a year. The company has operations in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Muscat and offers consulting, infrastructure, distribution and systems integration services to its client.

LS2 is in turn supported by Pragma Group International, which has provided the capital to fund LS2’s rapid recent expansion. Pragma Group bills itself as a holding company with operations with direct subsidiaries and venture funding for multiple companies including some in technology retail and distribution, and mobile handset and telecom distribution.

LS2 has channel operations in other Middle East and African countries for its distribution business. The growth strategy of LS2 is based on incubation of green field operations as well as through mergers and acquisitions. According to the company website, “The success of LS2 is attributed to aggressively launching new businesses and investing in entrepreneurs and managers whose ideas and value systems are consistent with those of LS2’s vision.”

The top executives behind LS2 include managing director Arvind Agrawal, a well known figure in the Middle East IT channel. Agrawal’s distinguished CV includes senior positions at Jumbo Electronics, HP and IBM. Joseph Tabet heads Pragma Group. As president of Pragma, Tabet also has a wealth of channel experience including over a decade with Emirates Computers and stints at Dell distributor Technoworld and integrator Hyperlink.
