Evertek will showcase mobile phones capable of carrying dual sim cards at this week’s Digital Consumer Channel (DCC) Middle East & Africa (MEA) event in the UAE. Evertek is a brand created by Cellcom, which in turn is part of Tunisian company YKH Group. Cellcom also distributes products from other brands including LG, but the company plans to use DCC MEA – the region’s premier retail channel event – to develop new channels to market for Evertek products.

Mohamed Ben Rhouma, general manager at Evertek, said: “The Evertek brand was created in 2006 and since then we’ve launched DVD players, microwaves, washing machines, dishwashers and dual sim mobile phones. We are participating in DCC MEA to look for new distributors for our phones in the region.”

“Our phones our sold in Tunisia where they have 10% market share. They are also sold in Morocco and in France and on British Airways flight where it is a very popular technology product. Evertek phones are also sold by KLM and Virgin airlines,” he added.

Evertek will use DCC MEA to identify the right distributors and retailers to carry its phones across the wider region. “We would like to sign an exclusive contract in each country with one partner and build our brand,” explained Ben Rhouma.

Evertek reckons that it has the right products at the right prices and is offering functionality that the customer craves that is not available from many other suppliers.

“We have a wide range of quality dual sim phones that are reliable and offer high added value,” Ben Rhouma continued. “We are very flexible and we will try to customise according to each country’s needs. We will definitely support our partners and listen to their needs.”

Evertek hopes to open up new channels for its products in three new countries in 2010 and take a minimum of 5% market share. The company is also looking at pursuing partnerships with new telecoms operators.

DCC MEA 2010

This year’s Digital Consumer Channel (DCC) Middle East & Africa (MEA) event takes place from May 18-20th. DCC is the ultimate professional networking event for senior executives from the consumer electronics, digital device and ICT products retail channel in the MEA region. DCC MEA is a focused event for retail executives based on the successful concept of bringing high-level buyers from emerging markets into productive contact with vendors.

DCC MEA regularly attracts more than 120 senior executives from MEA’s consumer electronics, digital device and ICT products retail channel. These include the powerful buyers and decision makers responsible for product selection for the retailers they represent. Not only is DCC MEA a powerful business platform, it is also an annual networking function allowing vendors to meet face-to-face with both existing and potential new retail partners from across the region.

For retail executives, attending DCC MEA is time well spent. In just three days you can hold dozens of face-to-face meetings with existing and potential new vendors, meet with your peers from across the region, find out more about the latest industry trends and market data. All this at one and much more at one exclusive event: DCC MEA, the ‘must-attend’ event for vendors and retailers associated with MEA’s consumer electronics, digital device and ICT products channel.
