Magirus lands Liquidware deal in EMEA

European VAD outfit Magirus has signed an EMEA distribution deal with Liquidware Labs. Magirus reckons that the deal will allow its resellers to grab a larger slice of the burgeoning market for virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions. Liquidware offers migration assessment and capacity planning solutions for VDI and next generation desktops.

Under the terms of the deal, Magirus will look to equip resellers to win assessment services for next generation desktop platforms and operating system upgrades, by selling Liquidware Labs’ Stratusphere and Profileunity software across all countries in EMEA. These tools enable organisations to assess, plan and manage their migration and rollout of VDI.

According to Gartner, the value of this global market is expected to accelerate to a mammoth US$65.7 billion by 2013, up from just US$1.3 billion in 2009.

“Liquidware Labs technologies are the ideal starting point for any organisation contemplating a VDI and complement our existing portfolio of virtualisation products – the most comprehensive in the industry,” said Christian Magirus, executive VP and COO at Magirus.

“Our partners will see enormous value in using Stratusphere and Profileunity to drive their services business. It will aid resellers to help their customers de-risk, speed adoption and lower the cost of rolling-out new virtualisation technologies, as well as easing management of virtual and next generation desktop projects,” he added.

Magirus will also provide on-site training for Liquidware Labs products to resellers, as well as pre- and post-sales support.
