Cherry secures Dot deal in UK

Cherry Electrical Products has appointed Dot Distribution as a UK distributor. Dot will carry Cherry’s security products, which include smartcard, RFID and biometric keyboards and standalone smartcard-RFID readers. Dot Distribution specialises in the provision and development of products and niche market solutions in the field of smartcard technology.

Dot offers its products and solutions to distributors, resellers and systems integrators, offering them immediate online access to stock availability and ‘trade only’ pricing information.

The two companies reckon that smartcard, RFID and biometric products are increasingly being deployed and used in applications where there is a need for security - for example in healthcare and corporate identity. As a result, demand for the best products at affordable prices is growing.

"Some customers prefer smartcard readers that are integrated into PC keyboards, and we found that Cherry offered a great combination of high-quality components at competitive selling prices,” said Dot’s Dan Isaaman. “Cherry’s security range also includes keyboards with integrated biometric readers as well as innovative desktop smartcard readers that fit well with our existing range of products."
