by Stuart Wilson, Friday 7 January 2011

DISTREE XXL, EMEA’s largest independent channel event, will host a series of expert workshop sessions on Tuesday 8th February 2011 as part of its Channel Academy education programme. DISTREE XXL has once again lined up speakers from multiple research houses and channel consultancies including bChannels, Channel Experts, Context, GfK, P&A Receivables, Regent, Simon Kucher & Partners and VIA.

“The Channel Academy workshop sessions provide an important introduction to some of the main themes that will be covered during DISTREE XXL,” explained Farouk Hemraj, CEO at DISTREE Events.

“We’re delighted to welcome such a diverse mix of channel experts to share their knowledge during the event,” he added. “As an independent event, we’re proud of our ability to attract speakers from multiple companies, giving delegates access to some of the freshest thinking in the EMEA region.”

All delegates attending DISTREE XXL have the ability to pre-register for Channel Academy workshop sessions through their personalised web accounts. Speakers and delegates also have the ability to request one-on-one meetings with each other during the course of the event.

Representatives from 400-plus IT and CE distributors from across EMEA will attend DISTREE XXL 2011. The event also attracts more than 100 vendors and has become the most powerful annual platform for launching, building or managing distribution channels in EMEA.

The Channel Academy workshop sessions take place in the afternoon of Tuesday 8th February, the first day of the event. There are four hour-long sessions starting at 13:45 and a further four starting at 15:00, allowing delegates to attend two of the eight workshops available. Other external organisations participating in the DISTREE XXL conference programme include IDC, Forrester and the Global Technology Distribution Council (GTDC).

“DISTREE XXL remains committed to working alongside the leading channel experts in EMEA to provide a valuable, informative and comprehensive conference and discussion programme,” added Hemraj.

“Delegates appreciate the fact that they can hear from so many different companies within one event. DISTREE XXL has become the ‘must attend’ event for EMEA’s channel executives because of its independent status and its ability to offer so many business benefits to attendees in such a short space of time,” he concluded.

Top distributors, retailers and e-tailers from across the EMEA region are invited to attend DISTREE XXL 2011, the premier event for the regional ICT and CE channel, from February 8-11th in Monaco.

DISTREE XXL gathers 400-plus senior executives from EMEA’s Information Communications Technologies (ICT) & Consumer Electronics (CE) volume distribution channel.

During the course of the three-day event, delegates take part in thousands of pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings with hundreds of vendors. Each year, hundreds of new distribution agreements are struck across EMEA as a result of business relationships initiated at DISTREE XXL.

DISTREE XXL 2011 will also build on successful initiatives launched at last year’s sold out event including a regional awards ceremony. The ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2011 Awards’ will include more than a dozen awards handed out to vendors and distributors from across the region. www.distree.com/xxl
