by Stuart Wilson, Friday 26 June 2015

The 12th annual DISTREE Russia & CIS created new channel business opportunities for participating information technology (IT) and consumer electronics (CE) brands. In total, more than 500 delegates attended the three-day event. Thousands of one-on-one meetings took place between delegates with vendors and distributors meeting the region’s leading retailers, e-tailers and resellers of IT & CE products and solutions.

DISTREE Russia & CIS 2015 was supported by Platinum Sponsor Huawei; Gold Sponsors Microsoft and Quantum; plus Mixberry as Silver Sponsor. GfK was an official Event Partner, delivering a keynote speech, workshops and a breakfast briefing. Content Partners for this year’s event included CONTEXT, GfK and Ocean Solutions.

During this year’s event Semen Rozhkov, Training Development Manager, Huawei Consumer Business Group (BG), delivered a keynote presentation titled, ‘Future Markets for Mobile Technologies in Russia’. Marat Khairulin, Partner Communication Manager at Microsoft Russia, presented a keynote session focused on new channel business opportunities around Windows 10.

Frederic Simard, Director and Co-Founder at DISTREE Events, said: “We want to thank all the sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, media partners and channel delegates for their ongoing support of DISTREE Russia & CIS. With thousands of pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings taking place, we expect many new channel agreements and business partnerships to develop as a result of discussion that took place at this year’s event.”

Major brands including Acer, AMD, HGST, Nvidia and Sony among others were also participating at this year’s event. Many of region’s largest and most influential distributors were also present, including Marvel, Merlion, MICS and Treolan.

DISTREE Russia & CIS 2015 also included the popular 60 Seconds to Convince Awards programme, where participating vendors had the opportunity to deliver a one-minute pitch for their latest product on the main stage. The winners were determined through live electronic voting by resellers and retailers. CBR picked up both the Best Product Design and Best Presentation awards for its Superman mouse, while BQ collected the Best Product Innovation award for its Aquarius E5 HD Ubuntu Edition smartphone.

DISTREE Russia & CIS took place from June 24th to 26th in St. Petersburg, Russia. DISTREE Russia & CIS gives technology and consumer electronics (CE) brands and distributors a unique opportunity to hold pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings with senior executives from the region’s most influential resellers, retailers and e-tailers.

Simard added: “The Russian market for IT and CE products and solutions offers significant opportunities for vendors. We were delighted to include many established Russian brands as well as companies looking to launch routes-to-market in the region.”

He continued: “Market conditions can change fast in Russia & CIS. For all suppliers, maintaining clear and transparent dialogue with channel partners is vital to their success. DISTREE Russia & CIS offers the most efficient platform for all brands looking to manage, build or launch routes-to-market in the region, allowing them to meet all of the major channel stakeholders in one place at one time. Planning is already underway for DISTREE Russia & CIS 2016.”
