DISTREE APAC 2017 workshops to cover consumer tech channel business trends and market opportunities

DISTREE Asia Pacific (APAC) has confirmed the line-up of workshops and small group sessions at this year’s regional consumer technology distribution channel event. The sessions form part of an extensive conference programme that runs alongside the main exhibition and pre-scheduled meetings between consumer tech suppliers and trade buyers that take place during the event. The fifth annual DISTREE APAC takes place at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel in Singapore on 8th to 10th November 2017.

Liam McSherry, Marketing Director at DISTREE Events, said: “The workshops are an opportunity for senior executives from consumer technology distributors, retailers and vendors to hear expert speakers, discuss current channel issues and exchange information with their peers. We are starting to see significant structural changes take place in the APAC consumer tech channel ecosystem, with the development of new e-commerce models and routes-to-market."

• GfK: From Smartphone to Smart Lifestyle - Hosted by Gerard Tan, Senior Director APAC, Technology, GfK. With increased connectivity, smartphones and wearables are becoming a necessity to meet the demands and lifestyle of consumers. As consumers in Asia continue to drive adoption and purchase of smart mobile devices, GfK takes a closer look at what consumers are embracing and the opportunities these present.

• SixthFactor: Neuromarketing & Behavioural Economics - Targeting the reptilian brain: use neuromarketing and behavioural economics to gain marketing advantage. Up to 95% of the decisions and choice is influenced by the reptilian brain - we think much less than we think we do and so do our consumers. As technology products continue to innovate and converge, staying relevant to consumers’ needs is essential as consumers have unprecedented options on devices. GfK’s look at what consumers are looking for in today’s high-tech market to determine what’s hot and what’s not.

• CONTEXT: Dive into the Data - CONTEXT will open up its data live in the workshop, and share the latest trends in technology sales, working interactively with workshop participants who will be able to pick the areas to be reviewed: How is distribution supporting the growth in consumer and B2B categories? What are the opportunity categories? Are prices holding up? What are the top sellers? Hosted by Howard Davies, CEO at CONTEXT.

• GfK: Omnichannel Shopping - Hosted by Jake Shepherd APAC Director, Retail World, GfK. This exclusive breakfast briefing session will share new research from across APAC to look at shoppers’ expectations and how retailers are using technology to meet them. The GfK team will explore the impact of omnichannel business strategies in the context of regional consumer tech channel development.
