UAE-based IT and consumer electronics retailer Sharaf DG has opened a new 30,000 square foot store in Abu Dhabi Mall. Sharaf DG claims that the new outlet is the largest electronics store in the emirate. The latest opening takes Sharaf DG’s number of stores to 17.

Sharaf DG also has retail operations in Dubai, Sharjah and Bahrain. The retailer already has plans to open a second Abu Dhabi store in Mushrif Mall and plans to expand into the untapped emirates of Al Ain and Fujairah during 2011. Sharaf DG claims that the Abu Dhabi Mall store will stock some 14,000 IT and consumer electronic SKUs on its shelves.

Yasser Sharaf, managing director at Sharaf DG, commented: "Sharaf DG has been witnessing a steady growth in sales, primarily on account of our attractive promotions, exhaustive product range, and excellent customer service. This has encouraged us to continue with our ambitious expansion plans in the GCC. 2011 is a year of new opportunities for us and with stores set to open in prime locations across the UAE, we are confident of continued success in the retail market. Abu Dhabi is just the beginning."

Nilesh Khalkho, CEO at Sharaf DG, added: "Sharaf DG is known in the market as leading the retail ’evolution’ and bringing innovation to the industry. Dubai and Sharjah have already witnessed it and now it’s time for Abu Dhabi to experience the largest electronics destination in the region."

Sharaf DG continues to offer its ‘Brand Promise’ promotion. Put simply, if a product is not available in-store, a Sharaf DG customer can make a request and the product is sourced within a set time. If it takes longer, the customer receives the product for free.

"Our numbers speak for themselves,” added Khalkho. “Over the last two years, more than 21,000 customers have asked for products under our ‘Brand Promise’, out of which 202 customers have even got products for free. We, as your electronics destination, stand by our assurance that if we do not deliver your product within 24 working hours, you get it absolutely free."
