MERA 2011 – INDIVIDUAL NOMINATIONS

by Stuart Wilson, Tuesday 10 May 2011

With just over one week until the ‘Middle East Retail Academy (MERA): 2011 Awards’ Gala Dinner, the full list of nominations for individual awards has been announced. During the last month vendors have been voting for retail executives, with retailers selecting the vendor executives they believe deserve recognition for their performance during the last 12 months. The top five individuals in each category receive official nominations with this year’s winners announced on May 18th.

The MERA Awards, now in their fourth year, take place in conjunction with Digital Consumer Channel (DCC) Middle East & Africa (MEA) – the region’s leading ICT and consumer electronics (CE) event. Receiving an official nomination for an individual MERA award is testament to business excellence and productive relationships within the regional channel.

“It is important to remember that we are naming the top five individuals in each category based on the number of votes received,” explained Farouk Hemraj, CEO at DISTREE Events, the organiser of DCC MEA. “The nominated individuals are at the top of their profession and are well-respected by the companies that they work with in the regional retail channel.”

“We congratulate all of this year’s nominated individuals and look forward to welcoming them to the ‘MERA: 2011 Awards’ Gala Dinner in the UAE on May 18th, which is being held in conjunction with DCC MEA,” he added.
