New Milestone for Elko Group

Elko was voted as ‘Russia & CIS Distributor of the Year’ at the recent ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2011 Awards’ held in Monaco in conjunction with DISTREE XXL

Distributor Elko Group has added Milestone video management software to its vendor portfolio. The distribution deal covers wholesale trade of the video surveillance systems in the Baltic States. Elko’s distribution operation spans the Baltic States, Eastern Europe, Russia & CIS.

Aleksandrs Orlovs, distribution director at Elko Group, said: “Milestone offers all the necessary software to provide high-quality operation of video surveillance systems, ranging from very simple to advanced systems, which are appropriate both for private and business use. Milestone cooperates closely with Axis, which manufactures IP cameras and has been Elko’s partner since 2001.”

“We believe that distribution of Milestone products is beneficial for the Baltic States customers, who care about high-quality video surveillance systems with various options of compilation and analysis. Milestone software for video surveillance systems is an important complement to the assortment of Elko products, including Axis IP cameras,” Orlovs added.

Olympus in Estonia

Elko also signed a recent distribution deal with Olympus covering Estonia. The agreement included cameras, lenses, photo accessories and dictaphones.

“We are very pleased to start cooperation with Olympus because now we will have the opportunity to offer wider up-to-date photo technology assortment of good quality in the Estonian market,” said Orlovs.

Janis Karklins, sales manager at Olympus, added: “Knowing Elko’s experience and professionalism I am confident that the new cooperation will be mutually successful and profitable. Olympus wishes Elko significant sales results and positive business growth in Estonia.”

Qnap rights

Elko has also picked up Qnap rights in Romania and the Baltic States. Qnap provides network equipment and specialises in network attached storage (NAS) and network video recorders (NVRs).

Elko’s Orlovs said: “Interest in data storage systems is growing rapidly. The market for these products increased by 25% in 2010 as the amount of data belonging to individuals and companies increases and there is a need for more solid, powerful and spacious data storage systems.”

Elko currently represents more than 80 vendors and sells to more than 6,000 channel customers. Elko employs more than 300 staff.
