‘ECA 2012 awards’ – DISTRIBUTOR INITIATIVE

The shortlist of nominated companies for the ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2012 Awards’ EMEA Distributor Initiative of the Year category has been revealed. In the run-up to this year’s awards, which take place on February 9th in conjunction with DISTREE EMEA, hundreds of distributors from across the region were invited to submit application packs for this award. A VIP jury selected the top four entries and the overall winner will be announced at a Gala Dinner on Thursday evening.

The four companies selected all submitted detail application packs for the award highlighting a recent channel initiative and the results it had produced. The top four entries shortlisted for the award are:

1. AJM Kooheji Group – Fly with LG

The ‘Fly with LG’ promotion was conceptualised and executed in the Kingdom of Bahrain by AJM Kooheji Group. The promotion helped dramatically increase the sales of LG IT products in Bahrain. Due to increasing competition from prominent players in the IT business, LG IT products in the year 2010 and 2011 were not selling as desired. The other concern which the product faced was the high pricing. During this period the Bahraini market was also going through an economic slump due to the political instability in the country. All the above factors hindered the LG IT product sales in Bahrain. The customer promotion was launched on 17th July and ended on 31st August 2011.

2. EET Group – Product Guide

EET Group’s product guide has become a sales and marketing tool it its own right. Today the company claims it is the most comprehensive product guide in the market, which enables customers to find the right product, parts or accessory for the computer or printer in just the clicks. The product guide is available - free of charge - to all EET Group’s customers. From the EET Group website - www.eetgroup.com - customers can also create a customised Product Guide to implement on their own website. This can be done in just a few clicks and is a feature not yet seen from any other distributors in the market, according to EET Group.

3. Esquire - VRN

The introduction of a world first Virtual Reseller Network (VRN) has given Esquire Technologies an edge over its competitors while simultaneously bringing unprecedented benefits to its resellers .The solution gives clients complete virtual access to Esquire’s entire stock holding, with information updated directly to reseller websites. In terms of speedy stock updates, these become available on the resellers website within three minutes. The reseller becomes part of an automated system through the entire value chain to bring the stock to the end user.

4. Westcoast - iCreate

iCreate is the most accurate configurator for HP workstations in EMEA. Created by Westcoast, it allows resellers to congfigure a workstation dependent upon the software required and the HP promotions on offer. Westcoast can then build the workstation to order. This programme is fully supported by HP who is now negotiating to roll it out across their European channel. The business has boosted Westcoast’s HP workstation business by over 100% since launch and is currently unique in EMEA.

Gala Dinner

More than 1,000 senior channel executives from EMEA’s vendor, distributor, retailer and e-tailer community will attend the ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2012 Awards’ Gala Dinner in the Salle des Etoiles in Monaco on Thursday 9th February. Now in their fourth year, the awards have become a benchmark for channel excellence in the region, with award categories for both distributors and vendors.


DISTREE EMEA 2012

Top distributors, retailers and e-tailers from across the EMEA region are invited to attend DISTREE EMEA 2012, the premier event for the regional ICT and CE channel, from February 7-10th in Monaco.

DISTREE EMEA gathers hundreds of senior executives from EMEA’s Information Communications Technologies (ICT) & Consumer Electronics (CE) volume distribution channel.

During the course of the three-day event, delegates take part in thousands of pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings with hundreds of vendors. Each year, hundreds of new distribution agreements are struck across the region as a result of business relationships initiated at DISTREE EMEA.

DISTREE EMEA 2012 will also build on successful initiatives launched at last year’s sold out event including a regional awards ceremony. The ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2012 Awards’ will include more than 20 categories for vendors and distributors from across the region.
