Dimension Data expands UAE offering

by Stuart Wilson, Tuesday 21 October 2008

IT services and solutions provider Dimension Data has launched its datacentre infrastructure business in the UAE market. Dimension Data reckons that the latest addition to its UAE services portfolio will allow customers to reduce the risk associated with IT disruption, improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.

“The datacentre has become a vital component of an organisation’s business operations due to the critical role that it plays in supporting expensive IT equipment that enable business operations to function. Companies rely strongly on their IT systems to run their operations efficiently. The main concerns most organisations face today are business continuity and information security. If a system becomes unavailable, the company’s operations may face a slow down or may even stop completely,” said Siddeek Rahim, managing director at Dimension Data.

“It is therefore necessary to provide a reliable infrastructure for IT operations in order to minimize any chance of disruption. Taking into account all these factors, we decided to launch our Data Centre Infrastructure solution offering for our clients in the UAE,” Rahim continued.

The latest offering, which was launched at GITEX in Dubai, complements Dimension Data’s communication cabling solutions and integrated security and media solutions, which it currently offers in the UAE.

Marc Jessiman, business unit manager for advanced infrastructure, added: “Dimension Data fully understands the criticality of deploying a reliable IT infrastructure and the processes required to make it work effectively. We are working closely with the leading technology vendors to offer our clients the latest and best technologies available in the market today. We felt GITEX is an ideal platform to introduce our latest solution offering to our clients and hence we decided to launch our datacentre infrastructure business at this event.”
