EMC signs Al-Jammaz VAD deal in Saudi Arabia

by Stuart Wilson, Wednesday 12 November 2008

Storage giant EMC has bolstered its distribution channel in Saudi Arabia, signing a VAD deal with Al-Jammaz Distribution. Under the terms of the deal, Al-Jammaz becomes an EMC Velocity² VAD and will address customer demand for networked storage and information management software in the Kingdom.

Al-Jammaz will provide an opportunity for more local system integrators to offer EMC’s industry leading networked storage systems, information management software to deliver unified storage, backup, recovery and archive solutions, and content management software. As a Velocity² authorised services network (ASN) partner, Al-Jammaz will also offer corresponding support services.

“Al-Jammaz has been providing technology-driven business solutions to Saudi businesses for over eight years now and in that time has succeeded in reaching almost 80% of the Saudi Arabian territory,” said Asim Al Jammaz, VP at Al-Jammaz Distribution.

“We will fully utilise our market expertise and regional know-how to develop a strong sales channel and tightly connect our product marketing initiatives to ensure proper channel fulfillment. We continually monitor performance and tune execution as we realize that this is critical to reaching out to our customers with the optimal value service for their investment,” he added.

Mohammed Amin, regional manager for EMC Middle East and North West Africa, added: “Customer demand in the Kingdom for networked storage and information management solutions is growing. Al-Jammaz’s local experience and familiarity with customer requirements will enable them to meet expectations of quality and timely service. We look forward to working with Al-Jammaz to address the needs of the Saudi market and to help them enable and empower their network of solution providers.”
