VIP celebrates 20th anniversary

UK-based distributor VIP Computer Centre has celebrated the 20th anniversary of the business with a celebration event in Manchester attended by 150 people including staff and vendor representatives, plus auditors and banking contacts. Trigon extends Samsung rights

UAE-based retail distributor Trigon has extended its Samsung product rights to cover the vendor’s entire portfolio of IT products comprising printers, multifunction devices, notebooks, monitors and hard disk drives. Tech Data sales climb in third quarter

Distribution giant Tech Data’s sales for the third quarter ending October 2010 climbed 9.2% year-on-year to US$6.16 billion. This was a sequential increase of 12.6% from the second quarter. After-tax profits were up 17% year-on-year to US$50.5m. European sales climbed 8.9% year-on-year to US$3.46 billion for the quarter – accounting for 56% of Tech Data’s global figure. (lire la suite)

Esprinet posts third quarter figures

Southern Europe distribution powerhouse Esprinet has posted its third quarter results. Sales for the quarter ending September 2010 were up 9% year-on-year at US$635.5m with after-tax profits up 20% at US$8.45m – a margin of 1.33%. Esprinet’s results statement also declared that the Italian tax authorities had started an inspection of the company’s 2005 to 2008 fiscal years for corporate tax purposes and from 2005 to 2009 for VAT purposes. Avnet holds HP storage training in Middle East

VAD outfit Avnet Technology Solutions (ATS) is rolling out an ‘HP Storage Academy’ channel training programme in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.
