Synaxon adds Fujitsu in UK

The UK operation of dealer group Synaxon has signed up Fujitsu Technology Solutions (FTS) as its latest vendor partner. The agreement means that members can now access FTS’ range of servers, notebooks, desktops and storage devices targeted at the enterprise and SME markets through Synaxon’s buying platform. Elko bags Intel award

Baltic, Russian and CIS channel player Elko has been recognised by components giant Intel at the vendor’s recent EMEA distributor enabling conference (DEC). Intel handed one award to Elko for outstanding achievement in sales of Intel Core processors in 2010. Elko claims that it is now the number one distributor of Intel products in Russia, Latvia, Estonia and Slovakia. (lire la suite)

Logitech lowers outlook

Accessories vendor Logitech has lowered its sales forecast for the full year ending March 2011. Logitech had previously forecast that revenues would come in at between US$2.4 billion and US$2.42 billion. The new revised forecast predicts sales of between US$2.35 billion and US$2.37 billion. Operating income is now expected in the range of US$140m to US$150m, compared to a previous forecast of between US$170m and US$180m. (lire la suite)

IDC forecasts tablet boom in EMEA

The numbercrunchers at IDC have come up with a stonking growth prediction for media tablet sales in the EMEA region. The research house reckons that EMEA tablet shipments will hit 22 million in full year 2011 – up from just 6 million in 2010. Driven by the success of Apple’s iPad, major vendors are now queuing up to launch a slew of similar products. (lire la suite)

Lanci quits Acer

Hardware giant Acer’s CEO and president Gianfranco Lanci has resigned from the company with immediate effect. The move comes after a disagreement on the future strategy for the vendor, with Acer admitting that Lanci held ‘different views’ to the majority of the board members. (lire la suite)
