Exertis strengthens gaming team

by Stuart Wilson, Wednesday 12 July 2017

Distributor Exertis has appointed Matt Finn as an account director within its consumer division based in Harlow, UK. Finn will be responsible for the management of key accounts focused on gaming, reporting to Alex Croft, Exertis, sales and commercial director.

Croft said: “I am delighted to add Matt to our successful gaming team where his experience will further strengthen our relationships with our major customers.”

“We have the best gaming proposition in the industry whether that’s for console or PC gamers with a great range of vendors and exciting opportunities for increased sales in both hardware, accessories and software titles as VR fuels the market. Matt will be instrumental in ensuring that we capitalise on this and other opportunities with our key accounts.” added Croft.

Finn joins from Amazon where he spent 12 years, latterly as a senior vendor manager responsible for software and video games.

Finn stated: “I have worked with the Exertis team for a number of years and was excited by the opportunity of joining the company. I have been involved in the gaming industry for the past six years and love the fast-paced nature of the industry as well as being at the forefront of technology changes. I am hoping to bring my gaming experience and contacts to help drive the business and build further on the relationships with the key accounts.”

Recent statistics from Ukie claim that the video game market in the UK was worth £4.33 billion (US$5.56 billion) - up by 1.2% in 2016 - with the VR market valued at £61.3m (US$78.8m). This helped to increase PC game hardware sales by 64% to £258m (US$331.5m), according to GfK.

Exertis offers a comprehensive range of gaming PCs and consoles, software, accessories, components and gadgets for e-tailers, retailers and independent stores. It is also an exclusive distributor for Xbox.
