ABC Data posts strong 2017 results
by Stuart Wilson, Monday 16 April 2018

Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) distribution giant ABC Data has announced that its 2017 sales hit US$1.38 billion with adjusted net profits doubling year-on-year to surpass US$10m.
ABC Data claims that its focus on the development of four key business areas - e-commerce, VAD, cloud and mobile – contributed to the strong financial results.
ABC Data’s VAD subsidiary, S4E, hit record sales of US$71.4m in 2017 – up 29% year-on-year.
Ilona Weiss, president of the management board of ABC Data, said: “The 2017 financial results of ABC Data were possible to obtain thanks to the cooperation of the entire team, including the analysis and forecasting of market conditions, focusing on key areas of activity, as well as steady achievement of results throughout the year.”
“We exceeded the projections by 23% in terms of the adjusted net profit and by 16% against the obtained EBITDA. I hope that we have positively surprised those who believed that the last year’s financial projections of the management board were too ambitious,” she added.
“Moreover, the consolidated gross profit on sales amounted to US$84.6m in 2017, which translated into a 6.1% margin. Thus, ABC Data maintained one of the highest margins on the global IT distribution market,” commented Weiss.
ABC Data is a leading IT hardware distributor in CEE. ABC Data claims that it is the only company in the industry that operates directly in eight CEE countries.
