Retail-to-Business (#R2B) Advisory Board holds first meeting

The first meeting of the Advisory Board for the 2014 Retail-to-Business (R2B) channel summit took place in Paris last month. The R2B Advisory Board includes senior channel executives from major ICT vendors including Lenovo, AMD, and Lexmark. Retailers in the Advisory Board include Fnac and Maplin, with many other major players pledging their support to attend the conference. Nvidia appoints MEA marketing manager

Components vendor Nvidia has appointed Chantelle Tavid as regional marketing manager for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. Based in Dubai, Tavid will join the recently established Nvidia office in the city. In her new role Tavid will work with Nvidia’s partners across the region to assist with their marketing campaigns, providing guidance and support. Read full story

Bluemouth extends reach with Ingram Micro

Entertainment accessories supplier Bluemouth Interactive plans to bring its licensed portfolio of gaming products to South East Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, effectively immediately. Bluemouth has partnered with distributor giant Ingram Micro to extend its reach into these new markets. Ingram Micro goes mobile in Latin America

Distribution giant Ingram Micro has started offering a full suite of wireless device lifecycle services in Latin America through its Ingram Micro Mobility business. The expansion of mobility lifecycle services availability will reach more than 40 countries offering a full suite of end-to-end supply chain and customisation solutions to manufacturers, retailers, network operators, resellers and existing Ingram Micro customers. MTI and MDM join forces in Ukraine

Consolidation is reshaping the Ukrainian distributor landscape with MTI and MDM signing a merger agreement. MTI will manage the enlarged entity and fulfill all MDM obligations to vendors and partners. MDM employees will join MTI under the terms of the merger agreement. GITEX 2013: Channel updates

It’s that time of year again as the Middle East market gears up for GITEX month. First up is Shopper from 5-12th October, followed by Technology Week running 20-24th October. With Shopper now happening twice a year, this October’s event has lost some of its impact. Holding it on separate dates from the trade show also means less overall buzz during Technology Week.
