Syscap pledges channel financing boost

UK-based IT finance provider Syscap has ring-fenced £50m (US$78.3m) for the IT channel in 2015 and is launching a new partner programme. The announcement forms part of a wider strategy to refocus the company as the primary source of channel finance. Syscap estimates that it currently deals with less than 10% of the reseller community in the UK that meets its new eligibility criteria. Read full story

Ingram Micro Mobility to push Kyocera phones in Latin America

Ingram Micro Mobility has been appointed as a distributor of Kyocera mobile phones in Latin America. The distribution deal well see Kyocera’s rugged DuraForce 4G LTE Android smartphone made available to enterprise customers within the region. Kyocera will leverage Ingram Micro’s infrastructure and capabilities in Latin America, reaching a channel customer base of 25,000 VARs, system integrators and service providers. Read full story

Nixie wins Intel wearables contest

Nixie’s wearable camera concept picked up first prize in Intel’s ‘Make it Wearable’ challenge, which launched at the start of the year. The competition was designed to fuel creativity and challenge innovators to evolve personal computing using Intel Edison technology. Nixie picked up the US$500,000 first prize for its wearable camera that unfolds and takes flight on cue to take the perfect shot from unique perspectives – a selfie-taking drone in other words. Entatech announces HannsG distribution deal

UK-based distributor Entatech has announced a new agreement with HannsG, the monitor sub brand of Hannspree. HannsG offer a comprehensive portfolio which enables users to select the right monitor for their individual needs with a portfolio of displays ranging from 18.5” to 27”. Paul Olliver, retail, solutions and displays channel manager at Entatech, commented: “Our displays business has gone from strength to strength over the past 12 months, opening up opportunities for us to introduce an additional brand to our resellers.” Read full story
