AB Group doubles gaming hardware sales in Poland

Central and Eastern European (CEE) distributor AB Group’s sales hit US$505m for the third quarter of its 2017-2018 financial year. Pre-tax profits came in at US$6m with after-tax profits reaching US$2.8m for the period, which covered the first quarter of calendar 2018. This represents an after-tax profit margin of 0.55%. Gaming hardware sales more than doubled year-on-year in Poland for AB, with sales in this category climbing 62% in the Czech Republic and Slovakia for the distributor. Read full story

Mobileistic has confirmed its participation at the upcoming DISTREE Russia hosted buyer tech channel event. Jays strikes distribution deal with Aqipa

Swedish audio brand Jays Group has partnered with distributor Aqipa, one of the leading retailers of consumer electronics and related accessories in the DACH region. The agreement covers Jays’ current and future product range including a dozen SKUs from the a-JAYS, u-JAYS and upcoming products. Aqipa’s experience as a consumer electronic retail specialist stretches back over 25 years. Aqipa focuses on the distribution and marketing of premium accessory products in the consumer electronics sector. Read full story

Xiaomi and ABC Data open Mi Store in Warsaw

Global tech brand Xiaomi, in cooperation with its local distribution partner ABC Data, has opened an authorised Mi Store in the Arkadia shopping centre in Warsaw, Poland. On the first day of its operation, the shop was visited by 2800 customers. On 12th May the Warsaw Mi Store, along with Polish online shop Mi-home.pl sold almost 1000 Xiaomi devices. Read full story

India-based distributor Rashi Peripherals held a two-day annual business review (ABR) conference in Mumbai. The event gathered Rashi Peripherals’ senior team from across the country to evaluate performance during the last 12 months and to outline the company’s future development vision. Tech Data reseller rides credit elevator to top floor

Distributor Tech Data has seen one of its UK customers reach the new £1m (US$1.36m) top line of its credit elevator programme. Tech Data claims that this underlines the need for the scheme and how effective it can be in giving businesses the ability to step up to height limits without having to go through repeated reassessments. The reseller concerned had been on the previous accelerator programme but stepped up to the new scheme when it was launched in February. Read full story

Exertis puts the kettle on

Distributor Exertis plans to start distributing a wide range of core electrical products in the UK. Established and emerging vendors will be on-boarded in the coming weeks. The category will sit within Exertis’ consumer business unit and will be headed up by Harriet Croft who has joined from Argos. CMS Distribution sales exceed US$600m in 2017

Storit Limited, the holding company of CMS Distribution, boosted sales 38% in calendar 2017 to hit US$606.5m with pre-tax profits up 40% year-on-year at US$23.5m – a pre-tax profit margin of 3.9%.
