Merlion expands vendor portfolio

Russian distribution giant Merlion has added new brands to its extensive product portfolio. Merlion has struck a deal to sell packaged products from Russian security solutions vendor Dr. Web. Merlion has also added products from smartphone and tablet accessories vendor Incipio as part of a Russia & CIS distribution deal. Read full story

Asbis strikes Adobe bundling deal

Emerging markets distribution specialist Asbis has struck a value-added bundle (VAB) agreement with software vendor Adobe. Under the terms of the deal Adobe will allow Asbis to bundle Photoshop Elements of Premiere Elements with ‘PC setup services’ provided by resellers in association with additional hardware and software. The agreement currently covers the CIS countries. Read full story

Wilk to showcase Toshiba flash offering

Wilk Elektronik will look to boost regional routes-to-market for Toshiba memory products through its participation at DISTREE Russia & CIS later this month. Wilk will use the event, which gathers senior channel buyers from across the region, to emphasise Toshiba’s leadership position in the world’s flash memory market. Merlion strikes Schneider deal

Russian distribution giant Merlion has extended its product portfolio through an agreement with Schneider Electric. The deal will see Merlion carry a variety of Schneider Electric cable management products including the Optiline 45, Ultra and Performa ranges in Russia. Merlion will also offer a range of technical and education services related to the products, underlining the company’s growing VAD credentials in the Russian market. Read full story

Ingram Micro rejigs global executive team

Distribution giant Ingram Micro has rejigged its global executive team, announcing a number of new appointments. Effective August 1st 2013, John Soumbasakis, 43, will be promoted to senior executive VP and president Asia Pacific, and Gerhard Schulz, 50, will be promoted to senior executive VP and president Europe. Mike Zilis, 43, will assume the role of executive VP and president, Latin America, effective January 4th 2014. As part of the shake-up there are also new roles for Shailendra Gupta, and Alain Maquet.
