Redington snaps up Adeo stake in Turkey

Distribution giant Redington has snapped up a 48% stake in Turkish IT services outfit Adeo for US$1.1m. The deal was conducted through Arena, Redington’s subsidiary in Turkey. According to its stock market statement, Redington plans a further investment of US$150,000 in Adeo to boost its holding to 51%. Read full story

OCZ Technology signs Tech Data deal

Memory product vendor OCZ Technology has struck a distribution deal with Tech Data covering both Latin America and North America. Under the terms of the agreement, Tech Data’s advanced infrastructure solutions (AIS) unit becomes authorised to distribute OCZ’s complete portfolio of flash-based enterprise and client SSDs and associated software solutions to its sales channel throughout North America and Latin America. Synaxon partners with Nedis UK

Dealer group Synaxon UK has struck a partnership with consumer electronics distributor Nedis UK. The deal gives Synaxon retailers and resellers access to a range of consumer electronics and accessory brands and products from a number of vendors including Energizer, Omnimount and Camlink. Cyberoam signs Emitac Qatar

Network security appliances vendor Cyberoam has appointed VAD outfit Emitac Qatar as an in-country distributor. Cyberoam hopes that the deal will allow it to make deeper inroads into the regional security market. Qatar’s high GDP capita makes it an attractive target for cyber criminals, according to Cyberoam. Aptec announces Kaspersky distribution deal

Distributor Aptec has struck a deal to add Kaspersky business-focused products to its portfolio. The agreement will see Aptec, part of global distribution giant Ingram Micro, promote Kaspersky solutions across the GCC, Levant, North East Africa and West Asia. Esquire extends Geeko tablets range

South Africa-based IT distributor Esquire Technologies is extending its range of own brand Geeko tablets, adding new products aimed at toddlers and children up to the age of 12 years. Merlion and Bureaucrat join forces in Russia

Russian distribution giant Merlion has merged with fellow distributor Bureaucrat. The precise terms of the deal were not disclosed. Merlion’s management team will run the enlarged company that will include all the contracts Bureaucrat has in place with both suppliers and channel customers. The two companies reckon that the deal offers new economies of scale and an expanded portfolio for the enlarged group. Read full story

Elko adds Lenovo tablet rights in Russia

Emerging markets distributor Elko Group has added Lenovo tablets to its portfolio in Russia. The inclusion of tablets in Russia builds on an existing distribution agreement in place between the two companies.
