Technically feasible or commercially viable?

During an International CES pre-event press briefing on Sunday 5th January, Shawn Dubravac, chief economist for the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), predicted that more than 20000 new products would be launched this week at CES 2014 in Las Vegas. Don’t expect them all to hit retail shelves in 2014 though. Dubravac was keen to stress the need to distinguish carefully between two sets of products: the ones that are technically feasible and ones that are commercially viable. Read full story

Tripp Lite signs Metra as distributor

Zebra recognises top EMEA distributor

Printing solutions outfit Zebra has recognised distribution giant Ingram Micro for its contribution to the vendor’s EMEA sales. Ingram Micro picked up Zebra’s highest card revenue contribution EMEA 2013 award. The accolade recognised the success of Ingram Micro’s digital capture (DC) point-of-sales (POS) team in recording the highest sales of Zebra card printers, related accessories and colour ribbons by an authorised distributor in 2013. Ultimate Ears expands channel reach in Ukraine

Ukrainian distributor MTI has extended its agreement with accessories vendor Logitech. The agreement will see MTI become the exclusive distributor of Ultimate Ears headphones in Ukraine. Ultimate Ears was acquired by Logitech in 2008 and operates as a subsidiary. Ultimate Ears specialises in high quality professional headphones. Read full story
