ZOTAC goes exclusive with Exertis

Exertis has confirmed a UK distribution deal with ZOTAC for its complete line-up of products, including graphics cards and mini-PCs. Stuart Hatch, components general manager at Exertis, said: “ZOTAC has a great range of Nvidia graphics cards with models that are keenly priced even up to enthusiast-grade water-cooled models. In addition, ZOTAC provides an extensive range of bare-bone Mini-PCs, including gaming models with integrated Nvidia GeForce GTX GPUs, which widens our product offering to our resellers.” Read full story

Exertis acquires MTR Group

Distributor Exertis has acquired UK-based MTR Group, a service and solutions provider specialising in second generation lifecycle extension of mobile, wearable and tablet devices. MTR employs 60 staff at its refurbishment facility in Harlow, Essex. MTR generated sales of £10.8m (US$14.3m) for the year ending 30th November 2016 and has seen significant and sustained year on year growth since its incorporation in 2011 by founders and co-owners Steve Healy and Andy Payne. iBRIT strikes Saudi Arabian partnership

Smartphone brand iBRIT has signed a strategic partnership and distribution deal in Saudi Arabia. Haitham Kalakash, CEO of iBRIT, has confirmed that iBRIT is working with distributor Etihad Specialized Trading (EST) in the Kingdom. EST is a subsidiary of the Assr Aljawal Group, which has been operating since 2005. Read full story

Tech Data names new LAC general manager

Distribution giant Tech Data has appointed Deena LaMarque Piquion to VP and general manager, Latin America and Caribbean (LAC). In this role, Piquion will oversee the strategic direction and execution of all sales, marketing, and operations functions for the company’s LAC organisation, including its Miami-based Latin America export division. She will report to Jeff Bawol, senior VP, enterprise solutions at Tech Data. Read full story

ALSO boosts net profits in first half

Distribution giant ALSO’s net profits hit €36.9m (US$43.3m) in the first half of the year – up 32.4% year-on-year. Pre-tax profits were up 27.6% at €51.4m (US$60.3m). With sales up 9.5% at €4.13 billion (US$4.84 billion), ALSO’s first half net profit margin reached 0.89%. Gustavo Möller-Hergt, CEO at ALSO Holding, said: “Our clear strategy, determined management as well as our implementation-focused employees constitute the backbone of our sustained success.” Read full story

Hammer Phones hits UK market

Hammer Phones has launched its range of high-end ruggedised smartphones in the UK, and is now looking to expand its channel reach. Hammer Phones are manufactured by MyPhone, part of the publicly traded TelForce One Group in Poland, which was established in 2001, has revenues exceeding US$100m and trades on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Hammer Phones are currently distributed by CI Distribution and Varlink in the UK. Read full story

Synnex has expanded its Australian distribution deal with Fuji Xerox Printers and will now stock the brand’s entire range of products. Distributor Dicker Data has added Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) to its portfolio in Australia. The new agreement allows resellers to capitalise on HDS’ solutions for midmarket and enterprise customers.
