ABC Data first quarter sales up 5%

Central & Eastern Europe distributor ABC Data has announced first quarter sales of US$279.8m – up 5% year-on-year. Gross margins for the period were 5.8%, resulting in a gross profit of US$16.12m Net profits were up 60% year-on-year at US$615,730 – a profit margin of 0.22%. Ilona Weiss, president of the management board of ABC Data, said: “We’re very happy that regardless of the current market situation, ABC Data Group is able to constantly achieve one of the highest [gross] margins in the IT distribution industry. In the first quarter of 2018 it reached 5.8%, which only confirms the effectiveness of our business activities.” Read full story

Exertis adds Omnicharge to portfolio

Distributor Exertis has struck an agreement with Omnicharge to push the vendor’s range of high-end product solutions, which includes the Omni 13, Omni 20, Omni USB-C and Omni Power Station. Tech Data launches third ‘Practice Builder’ programme

Distributor Tech Data has announced it is launching the third programme in its ‘Practice Builder’ series aimed at helping partners take new cybersecurity offerings to market. The new programme, ‘360° Security for Endpoint and IoT’, comprises multi-vendor solutions designed to protect endpoint devices such as laptops, cameras, tablets and phones, as well as IoT-enabled devices, used in sectors like manufacturing, retail, smart spaces, logistics and transport. Asbis’ category growth recognised by Intel

Emerging markets distributor Asbis picked up two awards at Intel’s recent partner connect conference held in Prague, Czech Republic. Intel picked up an award for the highest year-on-year growth in server sales in 2017 in EMEA. The distributor was also recognised for the highest year-on-year growth in SSD sales in 2017 in EMEA. AB Group doubles gaming hardware sales in Poland

Central and Eastern European (CEE) distributor AB Group’s sales hit US$505m for the third quarter of its 2017-2018 financial year. Pre-tax profits came in at US$6m with after-tax profits reaching US$2.8m for the period, which covered the first quarter of calendar 2018. This represents an after-tax profit margin of 0.55%. Gaming hardware sales more than doubled year-on-year in Poland for AB, with sales in this category climbing 62% in the Czech Republic and Slovakia for the distributor. Read full story
