Azlan boosts Felix services

VAD outfit Azlan – part of distribution giant Tech Data - has announced that Felix, its online quoting, ordering and contract renewal system, can now be used by resellers for Cisco Smartnet services. The Felix tools enable resellers to streamline processes, reduce costs and maximise new business and renewal opportunities for Cisco Smartnet services contracts, according to Azlan. Read full story

Ingram Micro launches EMEA telecoms business

Distribution giant Ingram Micro is establishing a new telecoms division in EMEA. The new business unit will focus on the fast-growing telecommunications channel. Ingram Micro plans to use its logistics expertise to offer a tailored service offering designed to meet the needs of resellers, retailers, mobile network operators and mobile virtual network operators. F5 unveils Unity channel programme

Application delivery networking solutions vendor F5 Networks has launched a new channel programme called Unity for partners in the EMEA region. F5 reckons that the Unity programme will promote openness in the value-added partner community of distributors and resellers by establishing clear success criteria to reward partner investment. i-Teco picks up HP award

Russian systems integrator and corporate reseller i-Teco has picked up a software award from HP. i-Teco has been named as an HP business technology optimisation (BTO) partner of the year on the basis of its activity in 2009. The award recognised i-Teco’s successful sales and implementation of HP BTO projects including software solutions to automate IT governance. Read full story

Zyxel pushes for partners in Russia

The Russian operation of network solutions vendor Zyxel has pledged its commitment to working with channel partners in 2010. Zyxel has launched its annual channel programme based on partner authorisation with the tag line ‘work together’. Partners are requested to complete an application for authorisation by the end of May 2010. The programme itself will run for a year from the start of July 2010. Read full story

OCS and Brocade run Russian workshops

Russian distributor OCS teamed up with data centre networking solutions vendor Brocade for a series of channel seminars. OCS is part of the National Computer Corporation (NCC), one of the largest diversified holding companies operating in Russia’s IT market. OCS and Brocade used the events to raise the skill levels of partners and increase technical expertise within the channel. Read full story

Avaya strengthens Saudi Arabian channel

Avaya has boosted its presence in Saudi Arabia, signing up Bright Star Communications (BSC) to its connect channel partner programme. BSC, which is part of the Baud Telecom Company (BTC), will offer a full portfolio of Avaya’s communication products and services to business in the Kingdom. BSC will operate as an independent channel partner created by BTC, which has been a Nortel partner in Saudi Arabia for three decades. Read full story

Cisco tweaks Avant Garde

Networking giant Cisco has tweaked its pan-European partner support initiative Avant Garde, to offer channel partners more assistance in the marketplace and to broaden the range of eligible resellers. Track completes Cisco events in Saudi Arabia

Track Distribution Middle East, the Aptec-owned entity created from global giant Tech Data’s offloaded Middle East enterprise and components business, has completed a series of events in Saudi Arabia to promote the fact that it now holds Cisco distribution rights in the Kingdom. More than 350 resellers attended the three events held, which focused on providing partners with sales skills and training on Cisco solutions. Read full story

AEG adds UK channel manager

UPS vendor AEG Power Solutions has appointed Stuart Priest as UK channel manager. The new role is part of a series of appointments by the vendor designed to build sales of its UPS product portfolio through channel partners. In the UK market, AEG hopes to eventually sell a majority of its single-phase UPS and certain three-phase UPS models through channel partners. Read full story
