Bell Micro delisted from NASDAQ

Bell Microproducts has been delisted from NASDAQ for failing to file overdue reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The value-added distributor has stated that it, ‘is working diligently to complete this process and will promptly seek relisting of its common stock once completed’. Read full story

Seagate rejigs for greater consumer focus

Hard drive vendor Seagate Technology has formed a new department to focus on growing opportunities in the consumer electronics (CE) sector. Seagate has formed a consumer solutions division, which is comprised of the company’s CE business unit plus the former Seagate branded solutions business, which was dedicated to delivering branded storage solutions under the Seagate and Maxtor brands. BridgeHead strikes worldwide Avnet deal

Enterprise data archiving software vendor BridgeHead has struck a worldwide distribution agreement with Avnet Technology Solutions (ATS). Under the terms of the deal value-added distributor ATS will offer BridgeHead’s archiving and backup software products to its reseller channel with an initial focus on the healthcare market. Computerlinks reveals 2007 sales

IT security and internet technologies value-added distributor Computerlinks boosted its sales 18.3% to €469.1m in 2007. Fourth quarter sales played a significant role in the company’s annual sales figure, contributing €156.1m to the total – a 20% increase on the 2006 fourth quarter revenues and a third of all sales in 2007. Avnet makes Murphy IBM business boss

Avnet Technology Solutions has appointed Miriam Murphy as VP for the group’s IBM products business group in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Murphy will assume responsibility for the ‘strategic direction and growth of Avnet’s IBM business in EMEA and for managing the relationship with IBM in the region,’ according to the distribution giant. Software AG signs Relativity reseller deal

Infrastructure software vendor Software AG has struck a global alliance and reseller agreement with Relativity Technologies. Under the terms of the deal, announced during CeBIT 2008, Software AG will offer Relativity’s Modernisation Workbench solution for application modernisation. The Modernisation Workbench is currently used by more than 400 organisations, including seven of the ten largest financial service providers. Read full story
