Brightstar bags HTC accessories gig in Europe

Mobile device manufacturer HTC has signed a pan-European master partnership agreement with logistics and distribution outfit Brightstar. Under the terms of the deal, Brightstar Europe will work on developing the distribution channel for HTC’s official accessories line. Read full story

DSG offers upbeat trading update

London-quoted retail giant DSG International has issued a trading update on the importance three month festive period ending January 9th 2010. Group sales were up 11% with DSG claiming a good performance across all categories and in all markets, particularly in its Italian, Nordics, UK electricals and e-commerce business units. During the Christmas period in the UK, DSG claims to have sold a PC and a TV every two seconds. Read full story

ATS becomes Tandberg ASP in UK

Avnet Technology Solutions (ATS) has become the first Tandberg channel development partner (CDP) to achieve accredited service partner (ASP) status in the UK. The elevation to ASP status involved a rigorous audit of ATS’ service delivery capabilities. ATS is the largest Tandberg CDP in EMEA and the distributor claims that its new status is evidence of its ability to deliver the highest levels of service through its reseller network. Wilk eyes Western Europe

Polish company Wilk Elektronik is poised to continue its international channel expansion in 2010. Wilk, which specialises in the production and distribution of memory products, sells products under the Goodram and Gooddrive brands. The company will attend DISTREE XXL 2010 in Monaco in February with an eye on potential new distribution deals that will allow Wilk to crack the major markets of Western Europe. Read full story

UK-based VAD outfit Wick Hill has been appointed as a distributor by VoIP telephony hardware player Yealink. Wick Hill claims that the latest addition to its portfolio forms part of its ongoing expansion into the converged voice-data market. The VAD has more distribution deals in the pipeline. Avnet signs pan-European Foxconn deal

Avnet Technology Solutions (ATS) has struck a pan-European distribution deal with Foxconn. Under the terms of the agreement, ATS will push Foxconn’s AMD and Intel-based motherboards and barebone chassis components to channel partners across Europe. ATS reckons that the deal will allow it to supply system developers and OEMs with vital components required for desktop gaming solutions and small form factor computing devices. Read full story
