Westcon seals US$200m European credit facility

Westcon Group has replaced its syndicated vendor-based inventory financing facilities in Europe with a new US$200m agreement, funded by HSBC Invoice Finance. The new four-year invoice financing facility consolidates and replaces existing flooring agreements within Westcon Europe on more favourable terms. Read full story

BlueCat opens European headquarters

BlueCat Networks has opened its new European headquarters in Amsterdam. BlueCat, which offers IP address management (IPAM), DNS and DHCP platforms in both physical and virtual appliances, has also announced the appointment of Paul Couturier as its new VP of sales for Europe. Couturier previously held senior roles at TippingPoint, HP and 3Com. Read full story

Arrow ECS adds Austrian NetApp rights

VAD outfit Arrow ECS has extended its distribution agreement with NetApp to cover Austria. Arrow ECS will now sell the complete range of storage and data management solutions from NetApp in the country. Arrow ECS Internet Security has hired storage distribution veteran Gerhard Ulrichshofer to manage its NetApp business. Ulrichshofer and his team will work collaboratively with NetApp to deliver the full suite of storage solutions to resellers. Read full story

‘Wizzy’ gets busy at Synaxon

Dealer group Synaxon has appointed Andrew ‘Wizzy’ Wygladala as UK vendor channel manager. In his new role, Wygladala will try and ensure that vendors receive value and tangible return on investment (ROI) from partnerships with Synaxon. Azlan extends IBM rights to Netherlands

Azlan has been appointed as an IBM authorised distributor in the Netherlands. Azlan is the European VAD unit of global distribution giant Tech Data. The initial deal with IBM will focus on industry-standard servers and storage solutions. The Dutch deal builds on an existing agreement between IBM and Azlan Belgium. Read full story

Esprinet strikes Blackberry deal

Esprinet has struck a deal with 20:20 Mobile to source and distribute Blackberry products in Italy. Distributor Esprinet, which has operations in Italy and Spain, reckons that the deal will strengthen its presence in the mobile segment. Esprinet will source the Blackberry products from 20:20 Mobile – a leading mobile handset distributor in Europe. Read full story

VIP picks up Patriot rights

UK distribution outfit VIP Computer Centre has added memory vendor Patriot to its product portfolio. The deal allows VIP to boost its memory and SSD product line-up with the addition of Patriot’s high-end offerings. Under the terms of the deal, VIP will distribute Patriot’s entire portfolio of DRAM, flash memory and peripheral products throughout the UK. Read full story

i365 hands Hammer European rights

Storage distributor Hammer has picked up pan-European distribution rights for i365’s entire product portfolio. i365, which is part of storage giant Seagate, offers on-premise and cloud-connected storage solutions for small and mid-sized organisations.
