Al-Futtaim CEO to speak at DCC MEA

Robert A. Willett, the recently appointed group CEO at Al-Futtaim, will deliver the opening keynote speech at this year’s Digital Consumer Channel (DCC) Middle East & Africa (MEA) event. Willett previously served as CEO of Best Buy International – a strategic business unit of US consumer electronics and IT retail giant Best Buy. He was also Chairman of Best Buy Europe – the unit that formed a joint venture with Carphone Warehouse – until his retirement from the role in January 2010. Read full story

Iomega adds Kuwait distributor

Storage vendor Iomega has boosted its Middle East channel coverage, signing an in-country distribution deal in Kuwait with Al Babtain. Lalonde leaves Extra

Kevin Lalonde has stepped down as COO at Saudi Arabian retailer Extra. Lalonde left Extra last month, bringing to an end his three-and-a-half year involvement with the fast-growing IT and consumer electronics retailer. Extra recently opened its fifth store in Riyadh taking its total number of outlets in the Kingdom to 14. Read full story
