Toshiba extends ‘Perfection Promise’

Toshiba’s Middle East PC business has extended its ‘Perfection Promise’ promotion to consumers until the end of July 2010. The promotion provides a range of benefits and services to customers within the first year of notebook ownership covering a range of issues such as accidental damages or unemployment. The scheme was launched in mid-March covering Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Read full story

‘MERA: 2010 Awards’ – VENDOR WINNERS

There were ten vendor awards up for grabs at the ‘Middle East Retail Academy (MERA): 2010 Awards’ held last week in the UAE in conjunction with Digital Consumer Channel (DCC) Middle East & Africa (MEA). Hundreds of retail executives from across MEA voted live using electronic devices to determine the winner of each vendor award. Navteq bags EMS supply deal

Digital maps, traffic and location data provider Navteq has been confirmed as a tier one supplier to Dubai-based Emitac Mobile Solutions (EMS) for its Middle East operations. EMS is a strategic channel partner for Research in Motion (RIM) and the largest distributor of Blackberry devices in the Middle East and Africa (MEA), covering some 33 countries. Read full story

Live Talk Shows at DCC MEA

The Digital Consumer Channel (DCC) Middle East & Africa (MEA) conference programme begins this evening in Fujairah, UAE. The programme begins with an opening keynote from Robert Willett, the recently appointed Group CEO at Al-Futtaim and former CEO of US retail giant Best Buy’s international operations. Iomega signs Trigon deal

Data protection solutions vendor Iomega, which is part of storage giant EMC, has strengthened its UAE distribution network, striking a deal with Trigon. Iomega reckons that its latest channel move will ensure its products are readily available to retailers and VARs in the UAE.
