Fujitsu reaches out to Middle East channel

Fujitsu has launched its select partner programme in the Middle East. The programme aims to make it easier for resellers to gain partner status and do business with Fujitsu. Resellers working with Fujitsu can graduate to Select Partner level by getting certified in either the Fujitsu mobility or server and storage area. Read full story

TechAccess takes on Quantum

Middle East VAD TechAccess has struck a distribution deal with back-up, recovery and archiving solutions vendor Quantum. Under the terms of the agreement TechAccess will distribute Quantum’s Scalar i-series of tape libraries and DXi disk-based back-up and deduplication products. Read full story

Computerlinks extends Infoblox rights

Computerlinks has extended its distribution agreement with network infrastructure automation solutions vendor Infoblox to cover the Middle East region. The VAD already held Infoblox rights in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and the Nordics. As part of the deal’s expansion to cover the Middle East, Computerlinks will offer support and also run an authorised training centre in the region. Read full story

Brother partners head to Cyprus

Brother International Corporation Gulf (BICG) travelled to Cyprus with distribution partners from across the Middle East and Africa for a business planning workshop. A total of 21 distribution partners attended the event, where BICG discussed its strategy for boosting sales across various printer product segments. Read full story

Extra opens Makkah branch

Saudi Arabian retailer Extra has opened its first store in Makkah, bringing its total number of stores in the Kingdom to 15. The new store is located in the Rabwa district, carries some 20,000 products and covers 7,600 square metres. The opening ceremony was attended by key dignitaries led by HE Dr. Osama bin Fadl Al Bar and Khaled Abdulatif Al Fozan, board member at United Electronics Company, the parent company behind Extra. FVC signs Apere distribution deal

Middle East VAD outfit FVC has struck a distribution deal with appliance-based ID and access management solutions provider Apere. Under the terms of the agreement, FVC adds Apere distribution rights across the entire Middle East and North Africa region. FVC hopes to boost Apere’s reach into the region’s telecommunication, enterprise and government sectors. Read full story

Track announces unified computing seminar

Sandisk signs Intercol in Bahrain

Flash memory vendor Sandisk has boosted its channel reach in Bahrain, signing a distribution deal with International Agencies (Intercol). Sandisk reckons that Bahrain’s high mobile penetration rate, coupled with Intercol’s channel reach, will create a strong market for its memory products. Read full story

Optimus relocates headquarters

Middle East VAD outfit Optimus has relocated its regional headquarters to a new location in Dubai. Optimus has moved its head office from Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) to the Hawai Towers on Sheikh Zayed road in Dubai. Optimus reckons the move will help it to expand and streamline its regional operations. The JAFZA facility will become Optimus’ regional support and service centre for its channel partners. Eset signs KMG in Egypt

Adaox, the Middle East business development company for antivirus vendor Eset, has announced a new retail distribution deal with KMG Technology in Egypt. Under the terms of the deal security distributor KMG will promote Eset’s solutions in Egypt, providing technical assistance, product demonstrations and after-sales support. Read full story
