MICS expands Russian operation

Russian IT and consumer electronics distributor MICS has strengthened its regional coverage, opening a new office and warehouse in Nizhny Novgorod, a major industrial centre in the Middle Volga region. The new office, called MICS-Povolzhie, will cover Nizhny Novgorod itself as well as major cities in the nearby Volga region including Cheboksary, Kazan, Samara, Saratov and others. Read full story

Intermec signs RRC for Russia & CIS

Intermec has struck a distribution deal with RRC, strengthening its channel to market across the Russia & CIS region. Through RRC, resellers and systems integrators in Russia & CIS will be able to join Intermec’s recently launched global PartnerNet programme. Intermec’s core technologies include rugged mobile computing and data collection systems, bar code printers, label media, and RFID. Read full story

AOC boosts CIS reach

Monitor vendor AOC has strengthened its channel in the CIS and Central Asia markets with the appointment of FireBird distribution as an authorised partner. FireBird will distribute AOC’s full range of display products in Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. Read full story

OCS picks up Cisco distribution award

Russian distributor OCS has picked up an award from Cisco. OCS was named best distributor in Russian based on the results of a survey of Cisco premier partners in the country, securing more than 40% of the votes. OCS picked up the prize at a recent Cisco event in Moscow and took the opportunity to thank partners for their support. Read full story

Koodoo adds AC Ryan rights

Russian distributor Koodoo Technologies has picked up distribution rights for multimedia player vendor AC Ryan. Koodoo is already giving resellers the opportunity to pre-order selected AC Ryan PlayOn products. AC Ryan attended DISTREE XXL in February 2010 and has since boosted its distribution reach in EMEA, including a UK agreement with Enta Technologies last month. Read full story

HP and Axoft extend agreement

Russian distribution outfit Axoft has extended its partnership with vendor giant HP to cover services as well as software. Axoft is a major player in the distribution of software in Russia and will now have the ability to push HP Care Pack Services alongside the vendor’s software products to channel partners. Russian retail expansion continues

Russian retailers continue to show an appetite for opening new stores across the country in 2010. Retail chain Positronica – part of IT distribution giant Merlion –opened two new stores in Dubna and Volga. Retail chain ‘PET’ also announced the launch of a new outlet in St. Petersburg, while hypermarket chain M.Video announced a new store opening in Moscow. Read full story

Merlion picks up PocketBook rights

Russian distribution giant Merlion has struck a deal with electronic books (e-books) vendor PocketBook. Under the terms of the agreement, Merlion becomes an authorised distributor for PocketBook in Russia and will use its extensive market reach to open up new channels for the vendor. Read full story
