Courts names new CEO in Indonesia

Singapore-based tech retailer Courts has appointed a new boss for its operation in Indonesia. Joseph Greenway has been named as the new country CEO. Greenway rejoins Courts after two years as COO of Fantastic Furniture in Australia. Prior to that, Greenway spent 15 years at Courts in a variety of executive roles in Singapore and Malaysia. The appointment comes after Roy Santoso resigned from his role as Indonesia country CEO at Courts to pursue other career opportunities. Read full story

Challenger touts Hachi.tech potential

Singapore-based tech retailer Challenger is optimistic on the growth potential for its online tech marketplace, Hachi.tech. The platform has made solid progress in its first year and the company is looking to expand the range of products available, improve the user experience and offer faster fulfilment options. GfK upbeat on APAC consumer tech demand

Research firm GfK has identified strong growth in the Asia Pacific (APAC) consumer technology market in the past year, driven by the growth and development of categories such as action cameras and wearables. Monitor market shifts towards high-end

Worldwide shipments of desktop monitors declined by 1.1% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2017, according to the latest figures from CONTEXT, the IT market analysis company. The low-end of each market has been noticeably shrinking, and there has been a marked change in the product mix. There has been a shift to larger, more expensive screens; rising sales of curved monitors, higher resolution displays and gaming monitors; and growing demand for 21:9 monitors. This, in turn, has increased the ASP with prices rising +2% year-on-year, according to CONTEXT. Read full story

GAMDIAS enters fast-growing gaming chair segment

Gaming brand GAMDIAS has unveiled new gaming peripherals and announced its entry into the fast-growing gaming chair category. GAMDIAS will sell game chairs under the Achilles brand with two models: P1 and M1. The Achilles P1 and M1 both have two designs each, five colours and are available in small and large sizes.
