Viks plans channel expansion

by Stuart Wilson, Thursday 20 June 2013

Viks Electronics will use its participation at next week’s DISTREE Russia & CIS to reach out to the region’s top retailers and resellers. Viks offers a variety of innovative accessories and personal electronic products. Viks claims that its products are ‘eye catchers’ with the potential to truly stand out on the shelves of a retail partner.

Vladimir A. Korotkov, spokesperson for Viks Electronics, said: “A key goal for us at DISTREE Russia & CIS is to grow our channel coverage in the region. The event is a great opportunity to meet many customers from different regions within Russia and CIS countries.”

“Having so many resellers and retailers together in one place and an online system for scheduling meetings with them saves us a great deal of time and expense. In addition to increasing the number of channel customers we work with, we can also use the event to introduce our new products to existing customers,” he added.

Viks aims to bring to market products that fuse fashion and technology. During DISTREE Russia & CIS the company will showcase a range of products including Bluetooth vibrating bracelet, Wi-Fi media reader and Bluetooth mini speakers.

“We focus on the latest innovative technologies that add value to consumer lifestyles,” explained Korotkov. “The Viks brand was established in 2012 to bring the latest accessories and personal electronics to Russia & CIS markets. We have seen demand growing and channel partners have started to pay serious attention to these product categories.”

“Viks will look to establish relationships with both retailers and e-tailers. Our partners should have strong expertise in serving specific end-user segments. Viks products are aimed at consumers that enjoy a mobile lifestyle and value their comfort,” added Korotkov.

“We come to our partners with an appropriate product mix where different components complement each other, including margin, marketing support, product information and customer alignment,” explained Korotkov.

Vilks works hard in terms of product promotion and joint marketing activities with partners, including point-of-sales (POS) support and online advertising campaigns. Since its launch at the beginning of 2012, Viks claims that it has seen strong growth, driven in part by the rising demand for smartphone and tablet accessories in the region. Viks is fully committed to working through channel partners.

“We focus on specific end-customer segment and select channel partners with the highest affinity for this segment and offer them the right product mix. This is our go-to-market strategy in one sentence,” explained Korotkov.

One of the most important aspects of Viks’ strategy is its ability to bring unique products to market that create new categories.

“We strongly believe that purchases should be made in a comfortable and customer-friendly environment with highest service levels possible,” added Korotkov. “This is the reason why Viks selects its sales partners so carefully and focuses on large retailers and online stores with impeccable reputations.”
