Hundreds of distributors, retailers and e-tailers will gather at next month’s DISTREE Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) hosted buyer consumer tech, consumer electronics (CE) and IT channel event in Monaco. The event helps brands turbocharge their business development by holding pre-scheduled meetings with senior executives from top channel partners. Christian Trapl, CEO at distributor Aqipa, will attend the event to promote the company’s global channel reach, which now also includes Australia and New Zealand, and to forge new business relationships.

Trapl commented: “Aqipa distributes products of brands within the consumer electronics sector in entire Europe, partly through our own Aqipa entities in ten European countries, and we are also present in Australia and New Zealand. We provide warehousing, distribution, sales and marketing services as a value-added distributor. The offered service portfolio depends on the business partners’ preferences. Our customers range from brick-and-mortar-stores of the most important CE retail chains to online stores as well as small independent retailers.”

“[At DISTREE EMEA 2019] we hope to further expand our business network in the CE sector and create valuable business relationships with various players in the industry, including brands, dealers and other business partners,” he added.

Aqipa believes that market conditions will become increasingly dynamic in 2019, with a further channel shift towards online and mobile sales. The company’s main strategic business objective for 2019 will be to further increase the efficiency of its warehouse system.

“The major trends are e-tail versus retail, price competition in the CE sector and increasing market consolidation,” explained Trapl.

He continued: “Aqipa has broadened its brand portfolio and we entered into new markets. Most notably there was an expansion to East and South East Europe, plus Portugal and New Zealand.”

Aqipa remains a family-owned business with headquarters in Austria. The company boasts a strong SAP-based infrastructure and is committed to selling premium products and offering a premium service to all business partners.

“We are seeing more online and mobile purchases and the increasing importance of omnichannel presence. This is coupled with more demand for smart devices in the CE sector,” concluded Trapl.
